Yvel Designer 18 Carat Gold & Double Baroque Pearl Necklace With Gold Nuggets (Code A644)

Description

A late 20th century fine pearl and 18 carat gold necklace by world renowned jeweller Yvel.  The majority of pearls on the necklace are doubles fused in the centre with some of them looking like bow ties etc.  At the lower part of the necklace there are also gold nuggets formed to match the shapes of the pearls and the clasp is in 18 carat gold with the 750 stamp on one of the attachment points.  The catch is marked with the Yvel name and has a rotating clasp to secure the necklace well when in use.  

Yvel are of course a very prestigious jewellery maker who specialise in fine quality pearls.  I have some oral history with this item but no documentation.  It was purchased during a Caribbean cruise in the late 90's at a cost of approx $25,000.  It comes with a box from Little Switzerland who retailed fine jewellery in that region.

A very rare and fine necklace for the pearl connoisseur.  Open to sensible offers.

Condition:   Necklace in good order.  All pearls appear to be intact.  Pearls are natural baroque type so have irregularities as expected.  Clasp working fine with minor wear.  Box has indenting to the interior from the pearls.  Exterior of box with minor wear.
