Vintage Chinese Carved Carnelian Model of a Shubunkin Goldfish with Stand (Code 2804)

Description

A vintage Chinese model of a shubunkin goldfish carved from a single piece of natural carnelian.  It comes with a custom made wooden stand for display but will also sit fine without it if you prefer to display it on its own.  The carving has a nice flow and captures the movement of the fins in water.  The colour differences are natural and where the carnelian becomes more quartz like and there are also agate type bands in places.

A very sweet little item for the collectors cabinet.

Condition

Slight nibbles to the fins which rest on the wood stand.  The notches around the other fins appear intentional
