Description
A vintage 9ct gold ring with a white opal oval cabochon. The opal is cut thinner than usual giving a lovely translucent quality if it is lit from behind. In strong sunlight it is predominately blues and greens with hints of red and orange and spots of indigo. The opal is raised on an open mount and the shoulders are trifurcated. The band is quite thick for its type and plain aside from two ribs at the shoulders. Inside the band it has a Sheffield hallmark with date letter for 1978. The makers mark is LB.
Please note due to the nature of the opal this ring should not be worn if is immersed in water and is not suitable for ultrasonic cleaning. Opals are also quite a fragile stone so not recommended for daily use.
The ring will come in a brand new presentation gift box.
