Description
A pair of 19th century French bronze and stone urns. They are of classical form with reclining figures to the bowls along with leaves. The undersides are also cast with petals and there are grapes to the handles. The plinths are in a black stone with soft sheen and there are rope twist bands adorning the plinth steps. There are also four feet in bronze for each urn. The bronze has a dark brown patina, and some natural verdigris is developing to some spots. Good quality examples with lovely satin finish to the stone.
Condition
Minor wear, some verdigris building in places. Chip to base of stone on one example and chip to the lip below the urn mount to the other. Bronze patination good with slight rubbing to the rope twists in spots. Some marks and light wear to urn interior bases through use.
