Pair Antique Edwardian Sterling Silver Corinthian Column Candlesticks Sheffield 1908 (Code 1815)
Description
A pair of classical style Corinthian column candlesticks. They date to the Edwardian period with the hallmark for Sheffield 1908, they also have a makers mark which appears to be for George Howson (Harrison Brothers & Howson) of Sheffield. They are of course very elaborate as you can see with the Corinthian pattern being a favourite design of the late 19th and early 20th century with the revival of classicism. These examples have removable nozzles and beaded decoration to the nozzles and the bases. Both have the same hallmark and the base felt appears original.
