Description
A particularly fine Deccan Indian bidri ware vase in yellow and white metal inlay. It is a large example and has various decorative devices in the typically Deccan Islamic style. Note the fronds which run through the pattern in delicate form tying the detail together. It dates to the 19th century and has been kept clean rather than leaving the exterior to dull and oxidise. The finish is a satin sheen which shows the decoration off better than a high polish would. A fine example for the collector or as a decorative piece.
Condition
Very good for type and age, minor period wear and aging as you would expect. Slight losses to oxide ground in spots and under the rim. Minor production flaws as expected for a hand made piece.
