Description
A large and impressive late Victorian hair art mourning brooch. It is in gilt metal and has a decorative frame with scrolled detail. The centre panel rotates and is held in place simply by the pin to the back. To one side it has a decorative design formed from hair and to the other it has a fine plait of hair. The panels are glazed. To the reverse there is also a suspension loop so it could be used as a pendant.
The item will be supplied in a relatively modern presentation box as seen in the images.

Condition: Very good for type. Hair good with some dust under the glass. Metal very good for period and surprisingly bright.
