Chinese Hand Painted Famille Rose Erotic Porcelain Plaque With Couple in Coitus (Code 2869)

Description

A Chinese famille rose palette porcelain plaque.  It is hand painted with an erotic scene (explicit part pixelated in the images) which leaves nothing to the imagination.  It has a poem to the top right with euphemistic terms such as; crossing necks, silk tree, toss and turn and let him snuggle.  It also features the artists mark in the bottom right.

The frame is ebonised wood and it appears original to the item.  There is a brass ring to the top for hanging.  Probably early 20th century in period.  Frame size 21.3 x 15.6 cm.

Condition

Plaque good with minor wear, no significant scratches.  Frame with light wear, some of the wood showing through the black and the odd scuff and scrape.
