Description
An Art Deco period cigarette case beautifully hand painted with an enamel image of a terrier dog. The dog is perhaps an older form of fox terrier or parson russell terrier. The case has decorative detail around the edges and is hinged to the left. The interior is gilded and it is stamped gold cased to the inside rim. There is a further indistinct stamped character near the hinge and a number 4 to the opposing side. Three are no makers details, however the style of case would suggest it is most likely French or Austrian. The case has a sprung catch and elastic to hold the cigarettes in place.

Condition: Generally good for period. Some surface scratches to the enamel. Some wear to the gold on the latch. Minor wear and some discolouration to the gilt interior.
