Antique William IV Silver & Carved Mother of Pearl Chamberstick & Snuffer c1835 (Code 2567)

Description

A very pretty chamberstick with silver fittings and a carved mother of pearl base.  There is a snuffer which hooks onto the handle in the shape of a flower head.  I can't find any marks (even on the undersides of the leaves when disassembled) however there are very similar referenced examples with English hallmarks dating to the William IV period and just before.  I have tested the silver parts and the results suggest Sterling grade silver.  The date range appears narrow and very few examples appear to have gone through salerooms in recent times.

It is smaller than a regular chamberstick, and perhaps would have been intended more as a portable wax sealing candle, possibly for a lady given the feminine style.  The top of the mother of pearl is engraved with roses.

Condition

Some wear as expected, but no problematic rubbing nor losses which I can detect.  Some bending and creases at the bases of the three upright leaves.
