Antique Walnut Table Top Cabinet Box - Internal Drawers & Inlaid Adams Detailing (Code 2758)

Description

A late 19th century table top cabinet in walnut with inlaid Adams style detail.  Nicely figured wood with a French polish finish.  It has two doors (lockable) and inside there are three drawers in a two over one configuration. Cabinets such as this were often used for curios and knick-knacks.

The right hand door as viewed locks and holds the other shut when in place, the escutcheon on the left is a dummy to balance the design.

Condition

Good for period, normal scratches and period wear etc.  A scratch across the doors between the two sets of inlay.  Shrinkage splits around the back panel joins and the back panel not quite reaching to the top mitre.  Lock, hinges and handles all good.
