Description
A late 19th or early 20th century Vienna porcelain portrait plate. The artist is H Stadler and it is signed in gold at about the 5 o'clock position. The portrait is of a young girl with long curly hair leaning on a cushion. It is nicely painted with great use of toning. The outer plate is in dark almost midnight blue with gilt patterns and raised enamel 'jewel' dots. It has the Vienna beehive mark and is titled 'Die Traumerin' (the Dreamer).
Condition
Very good for period, slight gilt wear. A couple of glaze flaws (from production) to the reverse.
