Description
A very unusual late 19th century teapot. The body is of scalloped form forming concave hexagons leading to a most unusual effect as you can see in the images. The lid is scalloped and has a lantern style knop. The handle and spout more traditionally Victorian with the scroll detail. There are no makers marks to identify the item just some hand scratched numbers to the base. It would make a most interesting talking point and its the only one of its type we have seen in 25 years so you are unlikely to come across another.
Condition
Some wear to the silver plate at the high points along the edges of the facets and the handle. The handle would originally have had heat proof spacers but these have been lost to time and the handle has been soldered in place.
