Description
A fine Victorian book chain in sterling silver with the locket having yellow and rose gold detail and an etched design to the reverse. The chain consists of fancy links with a foliate design. The locket has a rose design to the reverse and a floral design to the front with the leaf and flower elements being in gold. The chain is connected to the locket with a very large spring ring typical of the period. Inside the locket it is vacant aside the backing card and a retaining ring to the rear panel. The locket is hallmarked for Birmingham 1883. The bale is also marked with the lion for silver. The makers mark is A & for Adie & Lovekin, a noted Birmingham maker of the period.
