Description
A mini scent bottle with a sterling silver case over the glass interior. The silver is hallmarked for Chester 1891, the makers initials are unclear. The body has scrolled and floral details and the cap is a friction fit closure. The top of the cap is plain, so could have been intended for engraving of initials, although none are present. The interior of the cap is gilt washed to help prevent tarnish.
Hinge and closure are fine although there is no interior stopper. Such items were kept in a ladies purse for use when out and about.
Condition
Normal age related wear, minor dents to the top of the cap. No internal stopper. Minor nibbles around the glass opening to the interior. Hinge good and closes tight.
