Description

A very attractive late 19th century vesta case. It has the Aesthetic movement influence with plants and flowers and a butterfly above. There are also sweeping ribs to the other side of the body. The reverse is plain and it has a suspension loop and joint ring.  There is a ribbed striker to the base as usual.  Inside the rim it has a Birmingham hallmark for 1893.  The makers mark is possibly for Thomas Acott & Co of Vyse Street Birmingham in the jewellery quarter. 
 

Condition

Good for period with some normal minor wear. The seam to the lid from construction is visible and the join has been filled on the curve by the opener which appears to be original and from production.
