Antique Victorian Rotating Hair Art Mourning Brooch Pinchbeck Mount c.1880 (A2156)
Description
An antique hair art mourning brooch dating to the Victorian period. It is in a pinchbeck type mount which has a rotating centre. The main panel has locks of hair and seed pearls. The outer mount has decorative ellipse shapes. The panel to the reverse has fabric under the glass and would be suitable for a photograph etc. It comes with a safety chain as can be seen. The panel is prevented from rotating simply by the pin being in place.
