Description
A very interesting Victorian locket and chain. The locket is in gilt metal and is set with a decorative front piece consisting of flower and leaves along with a central block having three seed pearls. The locket opens to the reverse and is stamped W & SB. There is a glazed area for fitting a lock of hair or photo etc.
The bale is of decorative form and is linked to a large spring ring which is marked 9ct and in rose gold. The chain is of fancy link form with gilt metal surrounds and slotted panels with decorative additions. The round rings connecting the links and the slotted panels test as gold, however they are not hallmarked so it is possible they are plated. The chain is of choker length so the locket would sit immediately below the neck.

Condition: Some wear to the gilt on the locket, largely to reverse. Some general light wear as you would expect. One of the beaded surrounds to a link has come unsoldered to one tip which should not notice whilst wearing.
