Antique Scottish Dunmore Pottery Majolica Plaque - Classical Maiden & Children (Code 2665)
Description
A delightful 19th century majolica wall plaque by the noted Scottish Dunmore pottery. The pottery is named after the estate of the Earl of Dunmore on which it resided. The plaque has a heavy green majolica glaze with a hint of blue and has petrol iridescence in the light. The plaque is of classical styling with a female holding a flower garland and two children. The rim has holes to allow for hanging with string or wire. Unmarked as was common for these items produced during the Victorian period.
Condition
Some glaze scrapes to the face visible in the images. Chips to the reverse edge where excess glaze puddling has been knocked off.
