Description

A late 19th century Royal Worcester Art Nouveau period vase. It is decorated with irises in blue over the graduating blue ground. It would appear to be a form of their Sabrina ware although is not marked as such to the base, possibly due to lack of space. It has the Worcester mark with date code for 1896. Along with the underglaze decoration it features formal gilt designs around the foot, upper shoulders, neck and rim. A stylish piece and a little out of the ordinary for Worcester.


Condition

Some rubbing of the gilt at exposed parts, but it is still mostly intact. Minor wear. Some crazing in glaze accumulations.
