Description
An Indian Swami type small hexagonal box, probably intended as a small table snuff box or for betel nut. It would come from the Madras region and has a good amount of rubbing to the detail suggesting decent age, probably mid 19th century. It has Hindu gods on each of the faces and the base is plain. The lid is angles so it does not stay open. It is stamped to the inner lip of the lid V and 90, the later being the silver grade (90%).
Condition
Rubbing and wear from cleaning removing the detail from the decoration and smoothing out the surface, this being quite apparent in the images for you. Minor knocks.
