Description

A beautiful early 20th century Kasmiri region desk box.  It has four internal divisions and could be used for stationery or letters/correspondence.  It is intricately decorated with gold and blue floral designs along with leaves and a stylised border.  It is black lacquer to the interior and base.  To the underside it has a paper label with the address for Srinagar.
 
The colours have faded over the decade to a beautiful antique gold and deep blue.  If you look closely you can see details in the larger flowers.
 
 

Condition

See images for overall presentation.  It has some losses around the base and small losses to the design on the lid but largely hidden within the pattern so not strikingly obvious.  One piece of the internal divider edge missing. Beautiful faded colours.  A lovely item.
