Antique Georgian Pinchbeck & Moonstone Cabochon Line Brooch (Code A833)

Description

A very pretty early 19th Century brooch.  The body is in pinchbeck, a material developed to simulate gold.  The metal has decorative design with arched teardrops and the moonstones are set in bezel mounts with milled edges.  It has a traditional pin and c catch which is working fine.

Condition: Some age related wear and an antique repair to the reverse which you can see as two metal strengthening plates.  One of the cabochons has a shallow chip/nibble to the top and another has a flat spot polished to the top, possibly to remove a small chip at some point.
