Antique Georgian Ale Flute Glass with Engraved Bowl & Folded Foot English c1780 (3154)
Description
An 18th century English ale flute drinking glass dating c1770-1790. It is of typical form with a tapered bowl. The stem is drawn from the same glass gather as the stem making it a two piece construction overall. The bowl also features hops & barley etching. The foot is deeply conical with a neatly folded rim. The pontil scar has been left rough and the glass is English lead type.
Condition
Very good for period with little wear for the age. There are some minor air bubble and mineral inclusions as you would expect.
