Antique Calvert & Lovatt Langley Ware Sgraffito Blue Stoneware Vase with Leaves (Code 2486)

Description

A late Victorian Langley Ware vase from the Calvert & Lovatt period.  It has a powder blue ground coating the buff stoneware and is cut back to form leaves which are then picked out in gilt.  The body shape is in the Japanese taste with the slender neck.  Impressed marks to the base.

Condition

Some colour from the stoneware is bleeding through the blue slightly in areas, this can be seen in the images.  Minor production flaws to the surface.  Minor wear.
