Antique 19th Century Mother Of Pearl Shell & White Metal Snuff Box (Code A686)
Description
An early 19th Century snuff box formed of two joined shell halves with the exteriors polished to reveal the mother of pearl. There is a metal mount with a mother of pearl inset for the lid. The lid is hinged and has a loop for an opening catch. There are two further loops suggesting this item could have been suspended with chain.
There are no marks to the mount and it would appear to be a silver plated example.
