Description
An early 19th century Hispano Moresque pottery bowl, It is hand thrown and has a tin glaze with a Moroccan style pattern. The form is typical of the early 19th century and there is a single hanging point through the foot rim. Such pieces were produced in Spain and North Africa including at Fez. Somewhat unusual here is the lilac tint to the base glaze which sets it apart from most other similar examples. Dates to the first half of the 19th century.

Lots of popped glaze bubbles from firing and further glaze chips to bowl interior. Glaze losses and a small rim chip, hairlines at the rim from firing stresses. Quite crudely produced and fired, but this as expected for the period.
