Description

A scarce Rockingham green transfer printed plate in the Don Quixote pattern. The plate is of earthenware body and has the Brameld impressed mark to the reverse. It is dinner plate sized and would have been produced for use. It has a decorative moulded and shaped rim. The glaze has a hint of blue in the accumulations typical of early 19th century pieces and this example likely dates around 1820. It is nicely printed with good detail and resolution for the period and nice in the green rather than blue colour.


Condition

A good example for the 200 year old age. Fine crazing as expected, some mild discolouration to the rim and underside of rim. Glaze rubbing to rim. Some glaze flaws from firing as stypically expected of such pieces.
