Description
A fine Victorian locket and book chain dating circa 1870. The chain has fancy links with pierced detail including stars in the Georgian style. A large spring connects the chain to the locket bale and the locket is of highly detailed 3D form with decorative patterns in the high Victorian style. The locket opens to reveal two oval compartments which can be used for photographs, locks of hair etc. The retaining rings and glass are still present. The lining fabric is a later replacement. The locket holds closed using a friction fit, typical of the period. There are no hallmarks or makers details but it tests as sterling silver.

Condition: Good for period with all pieces in nice condition. There are some small indents to the reverse of the locket.
