Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Locket & Book Chain Chester 1881 (A1567)

Description
A Victorian book chain with decorative locket. The chain is hand made and has bow detailing throughout. A large spring ring connects to a shorter section which then connects to the locket with another spring ring. The locket has repousse detail and chased designs with various motifs. The locket opens to reveal two open areas which could be used for photographs or keepsakes. The original retention rings are in place but there is no glass. The reverse of the locket has a Chester hallmark which is dated for 1881. The makers mark is difficult to determine.
A great looking set with a very nicely decorated locket.

Condition: Some minor wear as expected for period with some rubbing of the hallmark. One of the spring rings has a small rough nodule of soldering probably from original construction. No glass to interior of locket.
