Antique Persian Qajar Coppered Brass Bowl/Vessel with Hidden Character Mark (Code 2670)

Description

A 19th century Qajar Persian bowl.  It is hand made in brass which has been coppered.  It is chased with parades of deer above and below the main decoration of calligraphic script using bold strokes and a stippled ground.  Perhaps the most intriguing part are the three simple line drawn figures to the base, perhaps a light-hearted makers signature or later added by an owner. 

The bowl has been used over the long-term and has limescale, verdigris and rust to the interior.  The rust would be from particles in the water, not from the bowl itself which will not rust due to the materials used.  The bowl was constructed in three parts with the body join being where the bowl starts to incurve, the join is more visible to the interior.

Overall an interesting examples with the hidden figures to the base.

Condition

Some wear, minor knocks and indents.  It is handmade so of rustic and not factory perfect form.  Adhesions to the interior.
