Antique 15ct Gold Sapphire & Seed Pearl Brooch
A gorgeous antique Belle Epoque ladies gold brooch dating circa 1900. It is in 15 carat gold, marked 15c on the underside. It is set with a natural cornflower blue sapphire approx. 2.75mm round facet cut. The sapphire is probably from Cylon. This is surrounded by an oval halo of seed pearls with four further pearls set along the bar. It comes with a safety chain which also features small pearls along the length. It has a standard pin and hook fastening which is working fine. This style of brooch was traditionally worn on the collar. A lovely piece of period jewellery.
