Description
An early 20th century 9ct gold ring. It is set with a marquise shaped cameo which is a hardstone example carved from agate and features a classical woman holding a musical instrument. The band is formed from two strands which have been fused together with a third being added at the shoulders making a trifurcated mount. The cameo is bezel set and the gold is a light rose gold. There are no makers marks or hallmarks and the gold tests as 9 carat. It dates to the inter war period, possibly a little earlier.
It comes with a period box in faux tortoiseshell effect. The jewelers name is E W & S Phillips of Leeds.
